How this calculator works
After reconstituting a lyophilized peptide with bacteriostatic water, concentration is vial mass ÷ BAC water volume. The amount you want to measure, divided by that concentration, is the volume to draw. On a U-100 insulin syringe, 100 units = 1 mL.
The formula
Example: 5 mg vial + 1 mL BAC → 5 mg/mL. A 0.25 mg (250 mcg) measurement → 0.05 mL → 5 units.
Units & conversions
- 1 mg = 1,000 mcg
- U-100: 100 units = 1 mL · 1 unit = 0.01 mL
- 0.3 mL syringe → 30 units max · 0.5 mL → 50 · 1.0 mL → 100
Choosing BAC water volume
More BAC water lowers concentration and increases draw volume (easier to read on the syringe). Less BAC water raises concentration and shrinks the draw volume. Match BAC volume to your measurement size and syringe markings.
Reading the syringe
Use the full-barrel view for overall scale, then the zoomed view for small unit marks. Always confirm markings on your physical syringe — branding and barrel styles vary.
Storing reconstituted peptides
